Holiday Home

This 3 bedroom, upside down house, in the centre of Rathmullan village, has spectacular views of Lough Swilly and is a 30 second walk to a daily swim and sandy beach. The open plan spacious living accomodation is upstairs and 3 large windows provide the stunning views.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with usual appliances and an island provides the ideal place to enjoy a morning coffee. An extendable dining table provides seating for 6 people. The lounge with a comfortable leather couch and arm chairs and soft lighting includes a wood burning stove and TV.

One of the 3 double bedrooms is upstairs and includes a shower and separate toilet and sink. Downstairs a spacious hallway leads to 2 further bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) and a recently re-furbished bathroom with shower and bath.

A back door leads to a walled courtyard complete with garden shed (which includes a tumble drier), patio furniture and a secure side gate which means that guests can safely store any activity equipment e.g. bikes, kayaks, SUPs. The courtyard is the perfect place to relax in the evening sun.

Rathmullan is a beautiful village on the western shore of Lough Swilly on the Fanad Penninsula, 11 km (7 miles) north-east of Ramelton and 12 km (7.5 miles) east of Milford. Boasting a main street running along the sea front and leading to the stunning 3KM beach, Rathmullan is steeped in history and was the scene of the Flight of the Earls in 1607 which was a very significant event in Irish history. The beautiful tree lined walk known fondly as Batts Walks is a reference to the fact that Rathmullan was once owned by the Batt family. The Abbey built in 1518 by local Chieftains, the Mc Swiney’s of Fanad is certainly worth a visit.

About Anne & John

Hey, I'm Anne, a native of Rathmullan, who dreamed of owning a piece of the village... and this became a reality in 2021, when myself and my husband, John, got the opportunity to buy this beautiful home. I'm excited to share my love of this corner of the world with you.
